Akashgarba - -
Akasagarbha, also known as the "Treasure of the Sky," is a Mahayana Buddhist bodhisattva associated with the practice of bestowing wisdom and removing impediments."Akasha" means "sky" or "space" and "garbha" means "womb" or "treasure" in Sanskrit. Thus, Akasagarbha means "one whose essence is space" or "one who possesses the treasure of space within."Akasagarbha is usually depicted as a young man with a sword in his right hand and a wish-fulfilling jewel in his left. The sword represents cutting through ignorance, and the jewel represents wisdom bestowed. He is also shown holding a lotus, which represents purity and spiritual unfoldment. Akasagarbha is sometimes associated with the practice of confession and purification, in addition to wisdom and obstacle removal. Practitioners of some Buddhist traditions recite the Akasagarbha mantra to purify negative karma and advance spiritually.
