Collection: Green Tara

Green Tara is a female Mahayana Buddhist Bodhisattva, particularly in Tibetan Buddhism. She is among the most popular and widely revered deities in the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon.

Green Tara is frequently depicted as a beautiful, youthful woman with a peaceful and compassionate demeanor. She is usually depicted sitting in a meditative pose, with her right foot on a lotus flower and her left foot tucked beneath her body. Her right hand is extended in the wish-granting gesture (varada mudra), and her left-hand holds the stem of a lotus flower blooming over her left shoulder.

Green Tara is said to be able to remove obstacles, grant wishes, and protect from harm. She is also associated with the quality of quick compassion and is thought to be especially quick to respond to those who seek her assistance. "Tara" is derived from the Sanskrit word for "star," she is frequently regarded as a guiding light for those who seek her assistance.
