The Stupa of Reconciliation is a significant Buddhist monument located in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Buddha. This stupa commemorates the reconciliation among different Buddhist sects or schools, symbolizing unity within the Sangha (Buddhist community). The history of the stupa revolves around the schism that occurred in the early Buddhist community. To mend the rift, the legendary meeting at the Sattapanni Cave in Rajgir brought together 500 arhats (enlightened ones), leading to reconciliation. The Stupa of Reconciliation stands as a testament to harmony within the Buddhist Sangha, emphasizing the importance of unity and understanding among followers of the Buddha's teachings.
