Mantra: Om Dzambhala Dzalim Dzaye Svaha

Yellow Dzambhala, also identified as the Golden Lord Arya Dzambala, is celebrated as “the most popular and powerful of the Wealth Gods.” A radiant manifestation of Buddha Ratnasambhava—the Buddha of Giving—he embodies both material abundance and spiritual generosity. Adorned in a crown, gold ornaments, and silk garments, Yellow Dzambhala is seated imperially at the center of a multi-colored lotus throne, stepping gracefully upon a white conch shell. In his hands, he holds a pomelo-shaped treasure and a mongoose that constantly emits jewels for the benefit of all.

Known as “The prosperous Heavenly King of the North” and the “Great dharma protector of the Buddha Path,” he blesses devotees with wealth, wisdom, intelligence, and ultimately, the potential to attain Buddhahood. Those with the astrological element of earth and born under the sign of the cow, dragon, sheep, or dog are thought to benefit especially from his guidance. Pouring water over the crown of his statue while chanting his sacred mantra invites good fortune and “lots of wealth and money luck” into one’s life.

    The Supreme Protector

It is told in the sutras that when Sakyamuni Buddha was reciting the Maha Prajna-Paramita Sutra, a demon appeared, intent on creating confusion and disrupting the sacred transmission. At that very moment, Yellow Dzambhala emerged and stood before the Buddha, shielding him from harm. Witnessing this act of divine courage, the Buddha turned to Yellow Dzambhala and asked, “Do you wish to become a dharma protector and save the sentient beings?” With deep compassion, Dzambhala accepted the Buddha’s word, and from that day onward, he vowed to protect the Dharma.

Since then, his presence has remained a sanctuary for those in need. “If anyone calls his name, he will come and help that person.” This sacred promise continues to echo through time, as Yellow Dzambhala answers with blessings of protection, prosperity, and a path toward enlightenment.
