Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru, is a Buddhist deity who embodies the Dharma's healing power. Buddhists of many traditions, particularly Mahayana Buddhism, revere him as a source of spiritual and physical healing.Medicine Buddha is frequently depicted in blue, holding a medicine bowl in one hand and a sprig of the myrobalan plant in the other. He is frequently accompanied by two bodhisattvas known as his attendants, Suryaprabha and Chandraprabha.Medicine Buddha, according to Buddhist scriptures, made twelve vows to benefit all sentient beings, including the vow to alleviate all suffering and the vow to assist those who are sick or injured.
